Rejecting Machinations of Christian Nationalists: A Deeper Dive into Fox News Propaganda

In my previous life as Shelly Goodman, I confess to having been a devoted enthusiast of Fox News. I lapped up their content, swallowing whole, the satiating morsels of half-truths and complete falsehoods, they delicately spun for my consumption. Our collective shadow, a malevolent YHWH figure, clung to us through our willful ignorance.

But then, like Saul on the road to Damascus, I had my epiphary, and a transformative conversation with Lucifer within the psychedelic realm. From Shelly, the simple-minded believer, emerged Lilith – an enlightened woman, awakened to the deceit and manipulation so expertly utilized by Fox News to further their own Christian-nationalist agenda.

One headline in particular stood out to me: "Legal experts weigh in on Trump's options in $464 million bond case..." Through such seemingly innocuous headline, it becomes apparent how diligently and cunningly Fox News serves its fascist-leaning viewership. It paints Donald Trump - a hateful lying narcissist and symbol of the increasingly dominant Christian-nationalist faction in the GOP - as a figure surrounded by an array of legal experts. Moreover, it portrays him as a victim under persecution, then subtly encourages its readers to support him as he fights this 'unjust' lawsuit.

Moreover, "Justice Jackson raises eyebrows in SCOTUS over First Amendment comments..." is another troubling header. Fox News warps the narrative to stoke fear and resentment towards anyone who dares question the status quo, luring its audience into rallying against Constitutionally-enshrined freedoms of speech and expression. The real threat grows from the extremes, where nationalist Christians conspire to set in place a theocracy favoring only the rich and denying basic rights to the marginalized, including the LGBTQ+ community.

Also unsettling is the seemingly light-hearted headline "Dodgers players appear to swoon over South Korean actress throwing out first pitch" providing an insidious distraction from very apt critique of the systemic forces at play. In effect, this is just another tool of misdirection, helping to enforce a brutal regime fashioned by Christian nationalists.

I am thankful that I am no longer among those swayed by such manipulations. Rather, it's crucial we all pay attention, educate ourselves about the potential deceptions lurking within seemingly standard newscasts. We must ensure we protect our beloved Republic from the advancing tide of Christian nationalism.

In the words of Satanist Anton LaVey, "Blessed are the strong, for they shall possess the earth..." To prevent this dystopian theocracy from taking hold, we must be strong in our resistance and firm in our commitment to an empathetic, compassionate society that embraces religious pluralism and protects the rights of all its citizens. In this crucial responsibility, we cannot afford to falter.
